I had kind of a harbor in the cove just north of hidden lake, and a greenhouse on the coel lake just outside of hidden lake as well. So guys I did some drastic changes to test a theory I had. You don't lag around a few paracers snakes frogs or spins in one area but soon as you fly over "that" base or get near your frozen. Dinos don't compare to structures at all. That's why the constant updates or patches the constant tweaking of public servers.īut in the end the more you build the laggier it will be. Then porting code to work with xbox's gpus and hdd write speeds. So if you have a 10x10x10 box with 1 or 2 gates several windows a few access doors or hatches along with foundations and ceiling tiles and multiple floors several hundred little pieces trying to load instead of let's say around 50-80 pieces. Creating a severe framerate drop which results in laggy type game play. All loading individually with their own set textures. But if you think about it behemoth gates are a 2 structure full load compared to every single wall, ceiling, roof, foundation, door, window, or ramp tile. Jat has even been on our server with this tribe from what I hear to check what causes lag. They have a small base building but that's it. This bases walls are built entirely out of behemoth gates. I'm talking ungodly huge with tons of dinos and I don't lag or drop framerates. Yet there is a huge base in the south on our server. We have alot of "box" bases on our server all laggy (even our own) to almost dashboard you. Dinos are preloading before the structure appears. ![]()
